Looking forward to the future of The Pillar. I actually discovered Substack because of The Pillar and have followed other newsletters through it. I'd love to hear your candid thoughts on the pros and cons of the Substack platform.
I'm sorry you felt it necessary to move off of Substack. I really loved having so much good reading material accessible from the same site. I read the latest Pillar Post on the new site and ran into two significant problems: 1) all the internal links were inoperable and threw up 404 (page not found) errors, and 2) I could find no way to report the errors on the new site (hence this Substack comment), because the comment box didn't load; instead I got this message: "Comments couldn't be loaded. It looks like an account for https://www.pillarcatholic.com has not been set up."
I hope you can get the bugs worked out of the new place knocked out PDQ. Moving is never any fun, is it?
Seconding Avi's comments, I'd be interested to know what problems made the loss of Substack's network effect worth it. I'll certainly miss the platform integration not to mention the 'blog feel' :(
Are there any iOS apps that we can use for the Ghost platform your new site runs on? I haven’t found an app through Google searches, so I’m guessing not, but wanted to ask just in case
I can’t post comments on new webpage. Does anyone else have that problem? I’m signed in but all is see is the word “comments” at the bottom of the page

Bummer about no longer publishing on Substack. Accessing multiple subscriptions on one app meant I actually read a lot more.
